Product Description

This organic Matcha green tea, harvested in the spring, comes from Kirishima, in Kagoshima Prefecture, on Kyushu, Japan's southernmost main island.

Before frothing, the fine powder reveals notes of milk chocolate.

The creamy froth is very easy to achieve, which will appeal to both novice and experienced tea drinkers.

The flavor of the tea begins with vegetal notes (endive) and finishes with subtle tropical fruit flavors typical of the Yabukita cultivar.

For optimal freshness, consume the Matcha within 6 months of opening and keep refrigerated.

Preparing Traditional Matcha

Sift the desired amount of Matcha using a fine-mesh sieve.*
Warm the chawan (tea bowl) with hot water.

Discard the water and then wipe the bowl with a clean cloth.
Depending on the desired strength, place 1 to 2 grams (1/2 to 1 teaspoon) of matcha in the center of the bowl.
Gently pour 65 to 100 ml of water at 75°C over the tea.
Whisk vigorously with a chasen (matcha whisk) for about 30 seconds until a smooth foam forms.
