The Rich History Behind Earl Grey Tea

The history of Earl Grey tea dates back to the early 19th century, when it was created for Charles Grey, the 2nd Earl Grey. A Chinese diplomat presented him with a blend that combined the finest black tea with bergamot, a citrus fruit grown in Italy. This remarkable tea quickly became a favorite of the British aristocracy and remains a beloved classic to this day.
